Family Vacation

Family vacations with a road trip up the 5 to Sacramento, stopping at Harris Ranch for a steak breakfast and having dad critique my Los Angeles style driving skills.  It was fun and I still can't believe how much family I have, dad has 6 siblings!  We ate way too many tasty treats and played the funnest games of guess what my secret is.  Mom used to trail rivers with hooks for dead bodies, with her Police Officer Dad of course.  Creeeeepy huh?  Sister used to sneak cookie dough from Grandma's freezer and bake it over a lantern in the garage, oh sister.

There was an outdoor ice rink too, I might have done a few spins and jumps.  Oh and a waffle bar at our hotel, can you say yum?  Christmas at my sisters was amazing this year and so was the eve at Donna's.

I still can't believe the year is almost over, hip howdy it's been a good one!

Bourbon Pecan Pie

I've always had mixed feelings about Pecan Pie until I made one with Bourbon.  Sweet, sweet bourbon with your smooth slightly smokey taste and touch of honey.  You in a pie is just a dream come true, really.  Choose your spirit wisely, I opted for my favorite Bulleit, other alternatives I suggest would be Knob, Bakers, Buffalo Trace, or Makers.  Don't worry, it's not boozy once you cook it, though you might find yourself doing a shot while you're waiting for it to be finished.

The recipe is here and bound to get reactions from people suffering from euphoria and yum.  You will thank me later, as this Bourbon Pecan Pie is anything but ordinary.

Disneyland Christmas

That Christmas feeling at Disneyland with lights strung about and hot churros in the cold winter night...  I'm one of those people who can't get enough of it and that parade with rollerskating snowflakes and reindeer's who can't keep their tongue in their mouths,  gets me every time.

I still have wayyyy to many treats to make from my Pinterest board for parties to come.  Hope you're all having a wonderful hump day!

DIY Holiday Wreath

Wreath making made easy, and when I say easy I mean it.  No hot glue involved here and pretty much everything was half off at Michaels!  I'm so excited for the Holidays already, there are reindeer dancing above my fireplace and all that's missing is a tree, god I want a real tree.  Wreath making can be intimidating, I must have been perusing the isles for a good 20 minutes till I decided to go with the grapevine wreath instead of artificial garland.

Total Cost: $14.00 (including wreath, glass bird, trimmings)

What you'll need:
  • Grapevine wreath
  • glittery leafy sticks to your choosing
  • centerpiece ornament
  • Needle nose pliers
All you have to do is cut the glittery parts and weave them into the grapevine, laying out your design beforehand.  What's fantastic about this is you can totally take undo your design and change it for the seasons to come!

Giving

A special giving thanks for alllll the things I'm grateful for:

My family, so many siblings/nieces&nephews so many good times.
The ocean, it's kinda my sanctuary these days.
Music and the joy it brings.
The art of creating and inspiring others.
Having the best dog in the entire world who just loves to cuddle.
Friends who make adventuring that much more fun.
Many opportunities that I've had to explore and see the world.
The ability to swoon at the smallest things.
Most importantly, being alive in today.
