Yosemite Winter 2012

Oh weekend spent roadtripping up to the Wondrous National Park of Yosemite, I love you.  The chilly weather induced a strict stout and barley-wine beer diet and the picnics were perfect as usual.  This girl had the time of her life figure skating with Half Dome as her backdrop, doing some serious spins and actually landing jumps, thanks mom & dad for all those lessons!  I also realized that playing boardgames is a new current-times activity I need to do much more of.  Hoping to return back here sometime in May or this summer, do the Glacier Point hike down into the valley, or get crazy and do Half Dome in an entire day, it's been a while since I've felt the pain of a 16 mile hike.  Plus the reward afterward, pizza patio and as much beer as I want/deserve.  Another magnificent trip with my brother dearest, darling sister-in-law Erika, and Mr. Wallace.

Family Vacation

Family vacations with a road trip up the 5 to Sacramento, stopping at Harris Ranch for a steak breakfast and having dad critique my Los Angeles style driving skills.  It was fun and I still can't believe how much family I have, dad has 6 siblings!  We ate way too many tasty treats and played the funnest games of guess what my secret is.  Mom used to trail rivers with hooks for dead bodies, with her Police Officer Dad of course.  Creeeeepy huh?  Sister used to sneak cookie dough from Grandma's freezer and bake it over a lantern in the garage, oh sister.

There was an outdoor ice rink too, I might have done a few spins and jumps.  Oh and a waffle bar at our hotel, can you say yum?  Christmas at my sisters was amazing this year and so was the eve at Donna's.

I still can't believe the year is almost over, hip howdy it's been a good one!

Things That Make Me Happy

The rush of the ocean beneath my feet.

A Giraffe just chillin in an apartment, no biggie.
Cliff jumping and the OMG's that go with it.

Summer Concerts.
A beer opening dog collar.
The idea of running away with someone.
Canoeing, I wanna make it my favorite new time.
Serious Cheese plates and the wine that goes with them.
Knowing summer is really here and the adventures have just begun...

Happy Thursday my darlings!  Oh and P.S. you totally make me happy, don't ever forget that.

Trails Cafe

It's Friday I'm in love.  Emma and I decided to take a nice little hike up to the Observatory this morning and hit up Trails Cafe in Griffith Park.  Such a great way to start your day, if you haven't done this it is a must.  Their coffee is by Stumptown and is loaded with flavor and punch, which is exactly what I need to get my day going before work.  Bakery wise?  They bake EVERYTHING on site varying from Eggs in a Basket to Bleu Cheese Pear Scones to Whole Wheat Waffles with fresh Strawberries, oh and pies!

I went for their coffee and a Cheddar and Chive Scone, which was simply delightful.  We also made friends with everyone on the patio, Emma is a fantastic wingwoman I must say.  It's days like this where it feels like I'm not in Los Angeles, when I really am.

Have yourself a terrific weekend my dears!

Motopony

Yesterday morning as I drove through Los Angeles, Jason Bentley made me fall in love with Motopony.  Frontman Daniel Blue paints quite the canvas as far as songs go, I instantly swooned to the arrangement of guitar, piano, xylophone, percussion, and slight southern vocals.  Have a listen and download it!  They're from Seattle of course, where most of my new favorite bands are from these days. I'm definitely going to go see them live, and there's a free show June 25th at One Colorado in Pasadena next month.  Awesome... oh and next week two shows, one at the Troub. and the other at Bardot.

This song makes me happy, I'm talkin' heartbeat skipping and all...
