Mammoth Lakes 2012

Adventures that lead you to happiness, accompanied by the best of family and friends, these moments are what make life so worth living.  Mammoth is one of my favorite places in the entire world, and yes I have many favorite things as you all know.  Nestled in the lovely Sierra Nevada's, where adorably furry Woolly Mammoths once roamed and now home to people who want to get away from the busy of everyday chores.

If you ever get a chance to drive an easy 6 hours to be surrounded by tons of lakes and towering trees be sure to check out Saddlebag Lakes to rent a boat and find yourself at the beginning of even more lakes!  Quite possibly one of my favorite hikes in Mammoth, as you climb in relatively easy elevation, you see snow topped mountains in the middle of summer and epic meadows for picnicking.

In the 9 years I've been annually visiting, I'd never once seen a Tufa.  Lake Mono was one geological butte, that I was instantly fascinated by (photos near the bottom).  Even more fascinating?  The signs not photographed, reading "No climbing the Tufas".

Besides the perfect dinner spreads and endless amounts of fancy craft beer and wine, this girl caught her first fish ever!  I might have screamed with excitement and I can't believe how delicious it tasted.  We now will be holding annual boat races at Deadmans Creek, which resulted in an afternoon of serious fun.  I swooned to to moon on how relaxing camping and the great outdoors can be for an entire week!

There's something so special about exploring this world and it's natural beauty.  With photography, it really gets you to stop and capture a picture so you can remember this moment forever.

Have a terrific week my darlings!

Anza Borrego

Desert camping, it's pretty amazing.  I'm talkin stars strung in the night's sky, 3 mile hikes to a real life oasis, toasted coconut s'mores like you wouldn't believe, and having the best company in the world.  Anza Borrego is almost as cool as Death Valley and tent camping there is a breeze, it's a place you should only visit in the fall or spring, as the summer is just too hot.  Their wildlife was pretty awesome, check out those bighorn rams!
Cheers to life and it's many adventures!

The Bruery Reserve Society Initiation Party

Oh the fantastical world of fine beer and lovely company.  I'm a Melange 3, Two Turtle Doves, Barrel Roll, and Black Tuesday kinda girl.  I might have been jumping with excitement and glee over just how delicious the brews tasted.  Cheers to a wonderful week ahead my dears!

Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

I'm an adventurist, a life lover, an enthusiast of experiencing this lovely ol' world.  Sunday was one of the most beautiful days I've ever known, seriously.  I decided it was time to explore the OC and it's wonders, then I found this place: Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.  Haven't been this smitten in a very long time, I could get lost in this park for HOURS and not see everything, meandering off the main path via Car Wreck Trail and Dripping Caves is a must.  The only thing I regret is not having a partner in crime and a serious picnic with a bottle of wine, cause really it was that pretty.  The walk in is deceiving, paved for a good 1.5 miles then you get into the heart of the wilderness.  I managed to do a 10 mile hike with some serious trail running and yes, I made it to the "Top of the World".  Also managed to polish off my day with a bike ride, hugging the coast of Trestles and loving Miss Electra even more.  Oh life, why you so good?
